Introducing...

June Bug Vyvial joined our family this past Sunday. Adam has always wanted a boxer and on a whim we added June. She is 13 weeks old and is just the cutest thing in the world. She is already picking up on the potty training, but we have lots of work to do when it comes to sleeping through the night. Poor thing! I am sure she is used to snuggling up to her mama and siblings.

June is the most cuddly little creature I have ever met. All she wants to do is curl up in your lap and be loved. She absolutely melts my heart.

Her big sissy, Ruby is adjusting nicely. I was VERY worried about how Ruby would act, but with lots of extra attention for Ruby to ease this transition, things are going great. We start obedience training in September and are looking forward to watching her grow!
In other news..we had a wonderful dinner party at our house on Saturday night. My in-laws, Ann and Ron both share August birthdays, so our family got together to celebrate. I made my mom's famous lasagna recipe with a salad and "Love Dip" to start. We even had a delicious tiramisu for dessert. Happy Birthday Ann and Ron! I am so blessed to have you as in-laws!

What we've been up to...

Last Sunday we spent time in Bellville with my parents and went for a swim at Jim's. Why have I not been in a pool all summer? It was so refreshing!

Last Saturday our friends Jess and Josh Feit had a party at their house. Jess's family was visiting from Wisconsin. We had a blast! We even had a "dance off" as you can see:)

A couple weeks ago we went out for our good friend Jenna's birthday. Adam has grown up going to school with Jenna and I have known her since highschool through church. We went to a new bar, Wild River. It was great! Love this place! It was nice catching up with a bunch of friends that we had not seen in a while.

And Happy Thursday to everyone! I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Did you hear, LuLu is coming to visit? LuLu is my parent's dog and Ruby's sissy! We are babysitting while my parents go on their cruise. Here is a pic of the little character herself:

4th Grade

Its official! Adam and I will be teaching 4th grade CCE together at St. Bart's in Katy (Sunday school). Only this is on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. We are so excited! We have been thinking about it and praying about it and finally signed up! It will be such a fun experience for the two of us to do this together. Hopefully we will enjoy it and can continue year after year.

Plus, if you didn't know, Adam and I met in my parent's CCE class at St. Bart's in high school. St. Bart's is such a special place for us. We met there, were confirmed together, and were married there. I look forward to raising our family at St. Bart's.

Stay tuned for more updates as the "school" year unfolds. I'm sure we will have some very interesting experiences.

All of this talk gets me so excited for fall. Did I mention we have Katy High School football season tickets this year? I am really excited, but don't you worry! I will be wearing my Taylor blue to the KHS/THS game. I am looking forward to that, college football (the watching parties more than the actual games), teaching CCE, pot roast and chili in the crock pot, tights and boots, Halloween decorations, and the list goes on! Yay!

Check out Budget Pet Care

Its that time of year! Its time for Ruby's annual boosters and time to stock up on her heart worm and flea prevention meds for the year- which can get expensive. We have to order her heart worm meds from the vet since they require an Rx, however I found the cheapest place to order her flea prevention, Frontline. Check out BudgetPetCare. I just ordered one year of Frontline for $99 which would normally be $179 at the vet or $167 through 1-800-PetMeds. Woohoo! I thought all you pet owners would like to know this nugget of info for your own furry children.

On that note, here is a pic of our love bug:)

Tickled Pink

I am so excited! Jill, my sister-in-law, FINALLY joined the blogging world. Her blog is called Tickled Pink and she plans to share the adventures of the Perez family all the way from Atlanta. In addition to our phone chats, this is another fun way to keep in touch and updated on everyone's lives. Check out Jill and Nic Perez at Tickled Pink. I am so blessed with such a great sister in law. Love you!

Try This

Since Adam has been home FULL TIME I have really been enjoying cooking every night and trying new recipes. I have been experimenting alot in the kitchen- some recipes have been keepers and some we decided to toss. This one is AWESOME! My good friend and co-worker, Kristin gave me this recipe for Salmon. Its probably the easiest, yet most delicious meal. Thanks Kristin!

INGREDIENTS (for two, adjust accordingly):

1. Lowry’s Herb & Garlic Marinade with Lemon Juice
2. 1 lb. Fresh
Salmon from the Seafood Counter (has never been frozen, I bought the the "All Natural" kind from HEB)
DIRECTIONS:
1. Plan to eat it the day you purchase the fish or the next day
2. Place Salmon in a zip lock bag with at least half the bottle of marinade
3. Marinate in fridge for a minimum of 30 minutes or overnight

4. Place in
baking dish with all the marinade from the bag
5. Add fresh lemons rings and chives on the Salmon (optional)
5. Cook for 45 mins at 375 degrees

I have already shared this with a couple friends and thought everyone needed this recipe:) It is the perfect and healthy summer meal and goes great with a side of fresh strawberries and brown rice. ENJOY!

P.S. If you have any favorites send them my way. I would love to try them out! Maybe we can add it into our Vyvial family "rotation" as we call it:)

I Dreamed a Dream

I may be behind on this, but if you haven't heard Susan Boyle you must check her out. She is the singer who famously won her way to stardom on 2009's Britain's Got Talent. I am obsessed with this clip. It gives me chills and brings tears to my eyes. My brother, Victor introduced me to her a while ago and just gave me her cd last night. I love her voice!

Rumor has it she is releasing a Christmas CD. I will definitely be adding that to our collection!

And by the way, it looks like I was unable to completely imbed the video. Click on the video and then the "Watch on YouTube" link to watch:)
