May is for Birthdays

May 20th was my big 2-5! It was honestly one of the best birthdays EVER! At first, I was pretty down because Adam had to be out of town for my birthday, but it turned out to be a really great day. First, my mom met me for a wonderful lunch and then I met my some of my besties..Christy, Hayley, Missy & Ali for a fun dinner at La Vida Loca. The restaurant gave us some funky drinks on the house with dinner. I had the skinny rita in a very tall, very skinny glass and Wu had a "Slurricane." The others had everything in between (if this gives you an idea of the "funky" drinks I mentioned). After we ate, we headed to the bar where there was an 80's DJ playing some old songs. To top it off the girls requested "Sweet Caroline" and it was a great finish to a wonderful night! As I headed home I called Adam to touch base. To my surprise he said he was 5 minutes away!! This was just the cherry ontop! I have the best hubby (and girlfriends) in the world! (see below.."We wear our sunglasses at night!")



On Friday (the day after my b-day) Adam took me to Babin's for a delsih dinner. Then, that Sunday we headed out to Bellville to celebrate with my parents. We had such a fun time with them! My parents surprised me with my very own pistol for my birthday. Since I have been home alone alot with Adam's travel (and seem to hear odd noises in the new house), I needed something for self protection. So don't come over unannounced;) ha ha. In Bellville we went shooting, my dad cooked out a yummy meal, and then we relaxed in the hot tub while listening to my fave Creager cd. Life is GOOD! As if it could be any better, my mom made Love Cake as well! It was the perfect day.



Oh and did I mention it was Ruby and LuLu's first bday too? Their first birthday was May 24th so we decided to "celebrate" during our time in Bellville. Those sisties just love eachother so much! If you have ever seen them together, you KNOW what I mean. Anywho- our last May birthday girl is none other than my lovey, Miss Christy Hammett! Her birthday is May 26th. May has always been such a fun month for us as friends because we either get two weeks in a row of birthday celebrations..OR we have had joint birthday parties. Our bday parties in the past were hilarious! Always crazy and tons of fun! Christy- next year lets have a re-do! This year for Christy's 25th we all went to Sushi Hana. It was so much fun! Katherine, Megan, Alli and Hayley all came to celebrate. I love getting together with my girls for any occassion:)

Deacon Victor

As I mentioned, we have been busy. After Emily's graduation, we zipped back to Houston to greet out-of-town family who came celebrate my brother Victor's ordination to a transitional deacon. I couldn't be more proud of him. He is in his ninth year in he seminary and will be ordained a Catholic priest May 2011. This was such a special day. The deaconate ordination took place Saturday morning, May 15th at the co-cathedral downtown. The ordination was both beautifully breathtaking and emotional. It was an honor to witness. After the ceremony there was a reception to celebrate Victor and the three other seminarians and new deacons who were ordained. Then, in the evening my parents hosted close family and friends to a wonderful reception and dinner at Smith and Wollensky's. To top it off, the next morning Victor served as a deacon for the first time at our home parish of St. Bart's in Katy (where Adam and I were married). The entire parish of St. Bart's has been praying and supporting Victor for these last nine years and were so excited for him. After mass, they hosted a reception for him (what else?). All I can say is my brother is a celebrity now! Ha ha. He is so special and it is so wonderful to see all of the other people who appreciate him and cherish him like this. There was so much out pour of love for him from TONS of people I have never even met. As you can tell, there were many "receptions" for him and at each there were people lining up to speak with him. I couldn't be more proud. I am so excited for him and what is to come. He is already such an amazing deacon. I must say, it is so awesome to see him wearing the Roman collar. I cannot wait for his ordination to the priesthood. I know he will be the best priest and I cannot wait to raise children who will have a priest as an uncle. How amazing is that? The Friday after we arrived home from Mexico, we headed to San Marcos to celebrate my sister in law, Emily and her fiance Rusty's graduation from Texas State. Congrats to them! It was so great to see our family after our vacation. Then, after the ceremony we went to Clear Springs in New Braunfels for a yummy lunch.

First Wedding Anniversary

Hi friends! So sorry it has been so long since my last post. We have been going, going, going and have lots to update on.

First, Adam and I had an AMAZING time in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. We went to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and stayed at the Royal Playa del Carmen. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone. It was beautiful, clean, the food was delicious, and they were so friendly. But most of all, we had such a wonderful time with each other. It is hard to believe that it has already been on year since we said "I do." I am so blessed to be married to the most wonderful man in the world!

While we were there we spent our time relaxing on the beach and pool, visiting the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza, snorkeling, and eating lots of good food. We had a blast.
